Case Study #2: British Waterways (Local Authority)

We believe we are the only company in the UK to have successfully undertaken such large scale eradication schemes. Our first major project was with British Waterways and we successfully eradicated Knotweed from approximately 500km of canals.

Although complete eradication takes approximately 3 years near water, it is normal to kill at least 95% from the first application.

Landtech sucessfully eradicated Japanese Knotweed from Oxford and Grand Union Canals for British Waterways - a total of 240 miles, plus all the London Canals including the River Lee which runs through the 2012 Olympic Site. The total cost estimated is £60,000 over 3 years.

The photographs to the right show treated areas previously infected with Knotweed, and have been free of it for 3 years.

Note: the native vegetation has completely regenerated.
