The quantity surveyor for Wimpey Homes estimated that 5,000 tonnes of contaminated earth would have to be removed, based on the Environment Agency code of practice. This would have cost somewhere in the region of £210,000. But with careful on site supervision from our senior agronomist just 700 cubic metres was removed at a cost of £40,000.
